Hi everyone! I’m Xinyi and this is my last year studying Health Information Science. I am very excited to be taking this course to understand more about how technology is used in education and how this intersects with the health care environment.

My preferred modes of remote communications can take place through email, iMessage, or some other type of communication platform.

I consider myself to be in between introvert and extrovert, perhaps leaning toward introvert. In terms of my communication style, I like to be detail-oriented (which may result in long messages), but I really emphasize being thorough. I would like to be improve my communications by being more concise.  

I am currently in PDT (Victoria time), but I may be travelling soon and will be in UTC+8 time zone. That being said, I am still very flexible with arranging in Zoom meetings and participating in assignments digitally. I don’t have a preference for days to do academic work so I can work with others’ schedules that may be more limited than my own. I prefer completing tasks and assignments early to save time in case of unforeseen contingencies.

When it comes to group work, my favourite part is getting to know new people and hearing about their opinions and experiences. I enjoy learning from them and hearing their thoughts about my work to make for a reciprocal learning environment. Working with others naturally comes with an increased logistics load. Sometimes it is challenging to coordinate times and delegate tasks to a large group, but this is also an enjoying challenge to see the different group dynamics.
